Report an unsafe battery
Smoke, flame or anyone hurt, call 999 or 112 first. Report it here afterwards.
This is what decides how fast we come. Pick the worst thing that is true.
We use your number to call you back about this battery and nothing else.
While you wait for us
- 1
Move people away, not the battery
A pack that is swollen, hissing or hot can vent without warning. Clear a three metre radius and keep people upwind of any smoke.
- 2
Do not charge it, puncture it or put it in water
Charging a damaged cell accelerates the failure. Water spreads a lithium fire rather than stopping it.
- 3
Get it outside and away from anything that burns
Bare ground, sand or concrete, clear of fuel, vehicles and buildings. Do not carry it through an occupied room if there is another way out.
- 4
Leave it alone and call us
Do not bag it, box it or stack anything on it. We collect damaged packs in a container built for them.
